Take Back America

I wrote the book American Spin to give Americans a peek behind the curtain to understand how the news gets made. Published in the Spring, 2015, American Spin is defined as the slant or the angle of a news story. The facts that are emphasized and the facts that are omitted or minimized is what creates Spin. What I wrote about American Spin in 2015 is child’s play compared to what we are seeing post-Presidential election 2016. Today’s news cycle is dominated by Gaslighting. Gaslighting is boldfaced lying that is fabricated to brainwash the masses. It is important for us to understand that Trump and the GOP is diabolically brilliant at Gaslighting. They have hijacked America. The question is: Can we take back America? #Take Back America

America Has Been Hijacked!

America has been hijacked! Donald Trump rose to power when changes in technology caused a decline in manufacturing and a loss of jobs for the working-class. In every mass movement since the beginning of time, when a working-class base is suffering, they will seek a leader who gives them a new identity. Trump gave them that new identity—MAGA. The base has yet to understand that under Trump, they will lose everything that they have. There is no need to talk about the hijacking of America as a simple struggle between blue vs. red, conservatives vs. liberals, or republicans vs. democrats. The hijacking of America is really a battle is between good vs. evil.  The hijackers are fascists who have taken control of our government. They have the money to stay in control. They will do anything to win. And all of us are in grave danger of losing our Democracy.

The fascists who have taken control of our government want to destroy everything President Franklin Delano Roosevelt put into place after the Great Depression. Franklin’s “New Deal” was created to protect the working and middle classes from poverty. The fascists in the White House and in Congress have no respect for the working and middle classes, nor do they think the government should provide social services such as Affordable Health Care, Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security. The fascists in the White House and in Congress want a Laissez faire economy that will regulate itself with no government regulations, interference, or oversight.  It is important to note that insufficient oversight of the economy is what led to the Great Depression of the 1930s and caused the Great Recession of 2008. If you examine both economic collapses, you will see that it was the working and middle classes whose lives were damaged, if not, destroyed.

Most important, the fascists do not want the mega-rich and large corporations to pay taxes, so they have more capital to stay on top. The fascists do want the working class and middle class to pay taxes and to bear the burden of the deficit. Someone has to pay for the bridges, tunnels, airports, and roads. The fascists would also like to destroy the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) so they can wield complete power over the coal, oil and gas industries. The fascists financial interest in coal, oil and gas is also why they will not admit to the overwhelming evidence of global warming or do anything to stop damage to the earth. They choose to make short-term financial gains at the expense of destroying our planet for the future generations of our children. 

Historically, fascists have used gaslighting as the primary way to control the masses. This is because fascists are very scared of the working class and middle class due to the large size of the population. They worry that a mob could rise up against them, then they would be outnumbered and lose power, or even killed. One reason why GOP Senators Mitch McConnell and Chuck Grassley refer to protesters as mobs is to position them as dangerous instead of as citizens who are exercising their right of lawful assembly. Fascists believe that by using constant misinformation, alternative facts, and boldfaced lying (gaslighting) they will keep the American people off balance. So far, they have been very successful. #Take Back America
