Money Talks and Skakel Walks

On Friday, May 4, 2018 The Connecticut Supreme Court vacated the conviction of Michael Skakel, who had been found guilty of murdering his neighbor, 15-year-old Martha Moxley, with a golf club in 1975.The Michael Skakel case spanned more than 25 years and inspired worldwide media coverage.  It is worth mentioning that Skakel is the nephew of Ethel Kennedy, widow of Robert F. Kennedy, because it is the Kennedy connection that ultimately enabled him to get away with murder. 


Building a Professional Reputation: Attorneys as Experts and Business Leaders

Throughout my career in P.R. I’ve worked with many attorneys to help them build their awareness for brands and their law practices. Our news portal publishes news about lawyers and has a special section for law. The news portal also offers attorneys access to build an Online Press Kit.  I enjoy working with attorneys because I have respect for their time constraints (billable hours) and know how to effectively use content marketing and expert positioning to build awareness for their reputation. I wrote this article especially for lawyers!!


GOOD LAWYERS

A few weeks ago, we sent an email to our list, titled Know a Good Lawyer?  We received some amazing responses and some terrible responses too. It was astonishing how many P.R. people couldn’t write three good sentences that answered the question: Why do you think your nominee is a good lawyer? One reader said there was no such thing as a good lawyer! Without explanation, and without apology, some lawyers nominated themselves. Some lawyers didn’t have a link to their bios, and many failed to read the instructions! Imagine how they review complex contract negotiations. Ha! We did get some good submissions and found that there are indeed lawyers out there who are making the world a good place to live!  I hope you enjoy this round-up. Happy Law Day!
